Arrival:

Hair & Attire for Dancers: 

  • GIRLS:

    • ​Hair: No-wisps-Ballet-Bun (how to video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIdK_asP0QQ)

      • EXCEPTIONS: Party Women & Party Girls

        • If it's your only role:  Hair half up, half down with tight curls

        • Multiple Roles: High Ponytail with tight curls (lots of hairspray) - able to put up in bun for other roles. We have some wigs (adults only)  and bun wigs (adult/child) for use. Limited availability by request. 

    • Make up:

      • Ages 6 and under: Minimal. Pink blush, mascara (if they’ll allow it). Absolutely no heavy makeup.

      • Ages 7+: Modest. Blush, light colored lipstick, mascara, light brown natural eyeshadow. For older participants (tutorial). Ages 10+ may wear LIGHT fake lashes in lieu of eye shadow.  

      • Adults: Full stage makeup with lashes

    • Shoes: Pink Ballet Slippers.

    • Attire: Pink Tights, Nude leotard (optional), arrive in a nice outfit, nutcracker shirt (PUT YOUR NAME INSIDE OF YOUR SHIRT) , or dress to wear for bows. Costume(s) are provided by Little Leapers and will be ready for students in their dressing room where they should remain after all rehearsals and shows. DO NOT TAKE COSTUMES HOME.

      • EXCEPTIONS: Party Women & Party Girls

        • ​​Arabian - Stirrup Tan Tights and turners

        • Spanish - Black Character Shoes

  • BOYS: 

    • Hair: Gelled hair with part on dancers right side.

    • Make up: Blush. Recommended due to stage lighting washing out dancer's faces.

    • Shoes: ​High black socks & black ballet slippers / jazz shoes

    • Attire: undershirt, Arrive in a nice outfit, nutcracker shirt (PUT YOUR NAME INSIDE OF YOUR SHIRT) to wear for bows. Costume(s) are provided by Little Leapers and will be ready for students in their dressing room where they should remain after all rehearsals and shows. DO NOT TAKE COSTUMES HOME. ​ 

      • EXCEPTIONS: Party Women & Party Girls/Boys age 9 and up bring your own mens tights / leggings /blacks pants. 

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION: 

If you signed up to volunteer we placed you during the time you noted you were available! SO PLEASE COME DURING THAT TIME! (If you are apart of a group such as Ballet Project, Fusion, Exodus, etc. Please make sure the rest of your team members come during the time they requested) 

 

Please dress in all black so that you are not seen on the side of the stage during the show. 

 

ALL VOLUNTEERS FOR THE JR SHOW: Please arrive BY 11:30am so that we can have time to go over everything with you before the show and to make sure that you are comfortable in your volunteer role. 

 

ALL VOLUNTEERS FOR THE EVENING SHOW: Please arrive by 3:30pm  so that we can have time to go over everything with you before the show and to make sure that you are comfortable in your volunteer role. 

 

ALL VOLUNTEERS should enter through the door to the right of the loading dock at Burruss Hall (Go up Old Turner St. YOU CANNOT PARK HERE) . This is located down the right hand hallway if you are in the lobby of the auditorium. The check in desk will be set up there. Make sure you check in with the table to receive your volunteer role and cast information if you will be with a group of children. 

 

IF YOU ARE VOLUNTEERING TO HELP WITH A CERTAIN ROLE WITH CHILDREN: After you receive your packet from the check-in desk, please go sit in the assigned section for your group. Runners will bring cast members to you as they arrive. Once you have all of your group, you may escort them back to the dressing room and help them get changed into their costumes. Once they are changed please return to your seats and wait to be called on. After your group is finished, if they do not go to a different dance, you may help them change into their Nutcracker t-shirt or dress clothes, then go back to your assigned section and wait for bows. 

 

If you did not specify a particular volunteer role that you wanted, please be flexible in where you are placed. All volunteer positions are subject to change as needed. 

  • Recommended to pack:

    • Water bottle

    • Please eat before the show!

    • Do not send your child with any outside food unless specifically required, we have some severe allergies in our cast (tree nuts, peanuts). NO SNACKS / FOOD BACKSTAGE OR IN THEATER.  We have many very serious allergies. No tree nuts, peanuts to include peanut butter and all nuts & peanut oils which can be found in chips and crackers. If your child child will need to be at the theatre for a long period of time, you may bring them food, to be eaten in the lobby or outside and followed by washing their hands.  Please come prepared (and fed). If you have any concerns please contact us prior to dress rehearsal. 


 

During the Show:

  • Volunteer(s) will be assigned to a group. 

  • Students will sit in the audience with their group (rows labeled) and volunteer or in their dressing room when not on stage.  Your child may not sit outside of the student area, for the safety of your child and organization of the show.

  • No men allowed in any girls dressing rooms and visa versa. Families my help their children in the bathroom)

  • No student should be checked out early unless previously approved by the director and indicated in your check-out. 

  • All students will participate in bows at the end of the show.
     

Child Pick up After the Show:

  • After the shows we will announce dancer names for pick up in the auditorium.

  • Please do not attempt to go backstage to retrieve your child.  This can cause a lot of chaos with the number of kids and parents that could potentially be back stage if we let this happen.  Again, this is for the safety of your child and the organization of our production.  If you’d prefer to be backstage with your child - please consider volunteering.
