Audition to be in Little Leapers & LEAP Performing Arts Academy presents their 6th Spring production... Little Mermaid: The sound of silence. Experience a unique twist on a classic story, as inspired by Be Kind, Blacksburg and told through music and dance! A production to surely be enjoyed by the entire family! This production will be comprised of dancers, singers, and actors throughout the community.

NOTE: If you are currently taking classes at Little Leapers, you do not need to audition to be in the show unless you'd like an additional / lead role from your recital routine. Your routines will be rehearsed in class as part of your instruction. To reiterate, you would not need to audition or come to outside rehearsals.
All auditioners will receive a role. To participate you must commit to attending all rehearsals with a max of two absences. Rehearsals are set for Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays depending on your availability and placement. Dress rehearsal is required and is set for May 12th during the day (tba and to avoid graduation events). Timeslots are assigned to each group numbers, depending on your role you do not need to stay for the whole day.
By participating in the in the show, there is a small participation fee. This fee covers the time to staff your weeks of rehearsal, studio and theatre rental time, lighting and production staff, sets, costumes and more. Included in the fee will be 1-ticket the show, and a show t-shirt. $75 for Little Leapers/LEAP Members; $100 for Non-Members.

Dancers will be taught a short routine(s) by our choreography team judged by a panel of our amazing staff here at Little Leapers. Each routine will be age appropriate. You do not need to come prepared with a routine. Please arrive with Ballet / Jazz, Tap, and Pointe shoes (pas de deux only) based on the styles you are trained in.

Weekly Rehearsals
We look at your availability before casting and setting the schedule. Rehearsal will be set once per week (Friday/Sat/Sunday) depending on your availability and placement.
Are you a current Little Leapers student?
All of our classes will be participating in the show. You do not need to audition or attend any separate rehearsals if you are interested in performing in Little Mermaid. Unless, you'd like additional dance roles, singing roles, or to be considered for a lead role. Please see your instructor for more information.
